How to Use This Unit Converter Hub

Formulas & Example

Non-temperature categories route every conversion through a category anchor unit. Temperature uses direct inter-scale formulas.

Anchor conversion (length, pressure, flow, etc.):
  baseValue = inputValue × factors[category][fromUnit]
  output = baseValue ÷ factors[category][toUnit]

Temperature examples:
  °F → °C:  (°F − 32) × 5/9
  °C → K:   °C + 273.15
  °F → K:   ((°F − 32) × 5/9) + 273.15

Metrology badge:
  YELLOW if category = pressure AND fromUnit = psi AND input > 125
  GREEN otherwise

Worked Example

Convert 100 PSI to kPa (pressure category):

baseValue = 100 × 6894.757 = 689,475.7 Pa
output = 689,475.7 ÷ 1000 = 689.4757 kPa

How does the anchor-based conversion engine work?
Each non-temperature category converts through a single base anchor unit — for example, length uses meters, pressure uses pascals, and flow uses CFM. Input values multiply by the source unit factor to reach the anchor, then divide by the target unit factor. This prevents missing conversion-pair failures and NaN results.

How is temperature converted differently?
Temperature bypasses multiplicative anchor factors and uses explicit Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin formulas. For example, °F to °C applies (°F − 32) × 5/9, and °C to K adds 273.15.
What is the multi-unit system matrix?
Below the primary converted output, the matrix shows your source value expressed in every other unit within the active category at the same time — useful for cross-checking field measurements against blueprint specifications without re-entering values.
